Every letter begins with a wander. I visit beautiful gardens, ancient woodlands, historic places and hidden corners of the British countryside, filling my mini sketchbook, aka The Curious Field Guide with artwork, photographs, collected ephemera and observations along the way. Those pages then become the inspiration for each issue, inviting you to slow down with me, follow your curiosity, connect to nature and get creative.
Each letter is accompanied by a video, so you can join me on the wander that inspired the issue. Analogue is wonderful, but there's also nothing like a cosy Youtube video and a cup of tea to switch off and get inspired, right? As a subscriber, these short films will become exclusive to the Curious Field Guide community, creating a shared journey between the places I explore and the letters arriving through your letterbox!
🎀 Each monthly issue may include 🎀
🌿 A chatty letter filled with wonder, honesty and inspiration
📷 Original photography from my wander
🍄 Carefully curated and vintage paper treasures
🍃 Genuine vintage tea cards
📮 Collectable postage stamps
🎨 Interactive creative elements such as mini zines, bookmarks or illustrated activities
🎥 Access to the accompanying Curious Field Guide film
No two issues will be exactly the same. One month you may discover vintage Kodak wildlife slides and tea, and the next, hand-stamped keepsakes, seed packets, botanical ephemera or other carefully chosen curiosities inspired by the season and the story behind that month's wander.
Rather than creating a list of projects that can feel like another task to complete (I get overwhelmed by too many prompts and activities and end up feeling less creative!), my hope is that these letters become something you can return to again and again. Read them with a cup of tea, tuck the photographs into your journal, use the vintage treasures in your own creative projects, wander with me from your sofa via the exclusive videos, or simply enjoy collecting each issue over time 🕰️🫶
📆 How the subscription works 📆
Subscriptions are charged when you sign up.
If you subscribe on or before the 20th of the month, you'll receive that month's issue, posted at the end of that month.
For example:
- Subscribe by 20 August → receive the August issue (posted after the 20th)
- Subscribe after 20 August → your first letter will be the September issue (posted after the 20th September.
Each letter is hand assembled in small batches and posted during the final few days of the month, ready to arrive at the beginning of the next.
Follow your curiosity, connect to nature, get creative
